Ian Poulter’s Naked Bet
Jun 17th
It has emerged that Ian Poulter had made a bet that if England loose to the United States in the World Cup; he would have played naked for the whole of his first round of the US open at Pebble Beach.
He usually has a very big following on his rounds, but we can’t be sure whether there would be a larger or smaller crowd for the colourful and eccentric Poulter. Poulter who pledged to play in his ‘birthday suit’ did so via a Twitter post whilst preparing for his assault on the Pebble Beach course and the US open. Whatever his attire, with his current form, Poulter has a spring in his step and has to be considered a serious contender to take his first US championship. He has been in sparkling form bagging two wins and a second in his last four outings.
We really think he could be the dark horse of the competition and he is our pick to take the title.
Rhys Davies and his caddie prepare for Pebble Beach
Jun 17th
Rhys Davies is planning the ultimate Boston tee party if American caddie Mark Maso can help him bag the US Open crown this week.
While Davies will be sailing uncharted waters at Pebble Beach, Maso, is something of a veteran having caddied for Garrett Willis, on the PGA Tour there. Maso hails from the Massachusetts, the city that gave us baked beans, Havard University, plus hit TV shows Cheers and Ally McBeal, and has been a rock for Davies on Monterey Bay this week as the 25-year-old attempts to get to grips with one of the world’s most iconic golf courses, Pebble Beach. Long roughs, lightning quick small greens and potential coastal winds would test even the most hardened of professionals, let alone a European Tour rookie just in his third year in the paid ranks.
We wish Rhys and his cMaso the best of luck as he will have to play out of his skin if he is to be crowned champion with the likes of Lee Westwood, Phil Mikelson and the prolific Tiger Woods, teeing up in the same competition.
